Physician Assistant

Ontario Remote

MPA are retained by one of Ontario’s leading diagnostic imaging clinic groups to recruit a Physician Assistant (Radiology Assistant) to join their tele-radiology team.

A Radiology Assistant (RA) assists radiologists in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions using medical imaging techniques. The RA will work with a variety of imaging modalities, including X-ray, Ultrasound and Mammography to provide comprehensive preliminary reporting. Their responsibilities encompass patient assessment, image interpretation, and assisting in interventional radiology procedures where applicable.


Duties + Responsibilities:

Preliminary Interpretation Support:

  • Review imaging studies and document initial observations to assist radiologists in the diagnostic process. Preliminary findings may include identifying obvious abnormalities, flagging urgent results, and preparing cases for formal interpretation.

Collaboration with Radiologists:

  • Work closely with staff radiologists to review and discuss imaging studies, ensuring accurate assessments and seamless communication across the care team.

Procedure Assistance:

  • Assist in a range of image-guided procedures, such as biopsies, and minimally invasive treatments. Responsibilities may include patient positioning, equipment setup, maintaining sterile technique, and post-procedure documentation.

Multidisciplinary Teamwork:

  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to support integrated care. Communicate relevant imaging findings or procedural updates when appropriate.

Documentation & Reporting Preparation:

  • Prepare preliminary documentation for radiologist review, including annotated images, clinical history, and relevant measurements. Ensure all information is accurately entered into the reporting system or PACS.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Adhere to institutional protocols, quality assurance standards, and scope of practice limitations, especially when performing any task related to preliminary image review or reporting.

Requirements

  • A valid and active practice license in the area of Diagnostic Imaging from a recognized body
  • A strong understanding of the Canadian medical landscape, reporting requirements and their applications is crucial.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Analyze information, solve problems, and make sound clinical judgments.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
  • Must reside in Ontario
  • Tele-rad home set up, with monitors to provide remote scanning.
